Sherri Hamilton is an assistant professor in visual communication design and the chair of the art department at Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. As a professional in practice, her teaching approach is heavily influenced by her professional experience of 20 years which spans design, illustration, and advertising. Sherri teaches undergraduate courses in graphic design, typography, social and community-based design, and issues in contemporary design.
As an active participant in the Rochester design community, Sherri served as Education Chair on the Rochester Advertising Federation (RAF) board from 2013-2016, coordinating educational programming for the design student population of Rochester-area colleges and universities. She is an active member of AIGA, the professional association for design, and the RAF.
Sherri’s creative work can be characterized as colorful and textured, and frequently incorporates custom lettering.
